This semester’s Freedom and Learning forum, hosted by President Ángel Cabrera, University Life, Diversity, Inclusion, and Multicultural Education and LGBTQ and Questioning Resources, and the Leadership Education and Development Office will focus on the human rights of immigrants. On Saturday, October 20th we are pleased to share that Jose Antonio Vargas, Pulitzer Prize Winning Journalist, Filmmaker, and Undocumented Immigrant, will be joining President Ángel Cabrera in a dialogue focusing on the human rights of immigrants.

Yet, the mass genocide that took place in 1994 is considered to be one of the worst forms of human atrocity the world has ever known, which killed almost a million people within the span of 3 months. How Rwanda has dealt with the aftermath of the tragedy to what the country has become now, given its progress and development, including challenges the country continues to face is what this study abroad program focuses on.

Family Weekend

You may think hunger is about too many people and too little food. That is not the case. Our rich and bountiful planet produces enough food to feed every woman, man, and child on earth. Hunger is about power. Its roots lie in inequalities in access to resources. The results are illiteracy, poverty, war, and the in- ability of families to grow or buy food. Hunger Banquet can help raise awareness, as organizers and participants alike experience first- hand how our decisions affect others in the world.
